The Big Blue Head lives and breathes his beloved Chelsea F.C. The on-pitch announcer for the better part of three decades and a featured presenter on Chelsea TV, Neil Barnett brings his knowledge and wry sense of humor to The Football Show.
Glenn Crooks
Crooks brings 23 years of NCAA Division One coaching experience to The Coaching Academy, SiriusXM FC’s weekly coaching advice show. He has an extensive broadcast background and is currently the radio voice for New York City FC. He can be seen as an analyst on soccer broadcasts for the Big Ten Network, Big East Network, and MAAC; and is also a contributing writer to Pro Soccer USA. Crook’s coaching experience includes 14 seasons at Rutgers University where he mentored two-time FIFA World Player of the Year Carli Lloyd and Olympic medalist and Canadian International Jonelle Filigno. He also guided the NJ Olympic Development Program to the only three national championships in state history, and was inducted into the NJ Youth Soccer Hall of Fame in 2018.
Charlie Davies
A former National Team forward and MLS veteran, Charlie Davies now shares his experiences on Counter Attack. After a collegiate career at Boston College, he played professionally in Europe for Hammarby, Sochaux, and Randers. In MLS, Davies played for New England, DC United, and Philadelphia. He was instrumental in New England’s run to the 2014 MLS Cup Final, scoring key goals against Columbus and New York Red Bulls. As a broadcaster Charlie can be seen on New England Revolution telecasts and on MLSsoccer.com.
Jason Davis
The voice of the American fan, Jason Davis covers the domestic game like no other on The United States of Soccer. Davis provides his passionate viewpoints about Major League Soccer, the US National Teams, USL, and more. He also writes for ESPN FC and USSoccerPlayers.com.
Brian Dunseth
Brian served as the captain of the United States at the 2000 Olympics and enjoyed a successful MLS career that included stints with the New England Revolution, Miami Fusion, Columbus Crew, and LA Galaxy. Since retiring, Dunny has established himself as one of the best young soccer voices in America, working as a color commentator for FOX and Real Salt Lake, and bringing his fresh personality and youthful outlook to Counter Attack.
Danny Higginbotham
Danny Higginbotham can be heard on Grumpy Pundits and The Football Show. After coming up through the Manchester United youth system, Higginbotham enjoyed a 14-year career, playing most notably for Stoke City, Southampton, and Derby County. As a broadcaster he has called games for talkSPORT, BBC Radio 5 Live, BT Sport, and Sky Sports. He has also been seen as an analyst on NBC Sports coverage of the Premier League.
Ray Hudson
A man synonymous with passion for the beautiful game adds his unique flair and opinion to The Football Show. Hudson’s career began as a teenager with his hometown Newcastle United before finishing up in the NASL with the Fort Lauderdale Strikers. He became a coach in Major League Soccer with the Miami Fusion and DC United, where he experienced highs and lows. In 2001, he guided the Fusion to the Supporter’s Shield, but in 2003 when DC United was eliminated from the playoffs, his first remark to reporters was, “Someone get me a blindfold and a cigarette!” When not entertaining SiriusXM FC listeners, Rockey is featured putting the color in his analysis on match broadcasts on beIN Sports.
Kristian Jack
For more than 20 years, Jack has been one of Canada’s top soccer broadcasters. He has covered MLS, the Premier League, and the World Cup for TSN. On SiriusXM FC, you can hear KJ recap the weekend in the “World’s Most Exciting League” on Premier League Final, as well as adding his expertise to other shows on the channel.
Matt Lawrence
A native of Northampton, England, Matt Lawrence played college soccer in the U.S. at Hartwick before returning to England and playing for various teams, including Millwall, Fulham, and Crystal Palace. As a broadcaster, he’s worked as an analyst for talkSPORT broadcasts of the Premier League, on TV broadcasts for Sporting KC, and as a radio analyst for NYCFC.
Rodney Marsh
The Clown Prince of Football entertains listeners as part of the Grumpy Pundits. After playing for Fulham, QPR, and Manchester City, the England International moved across the pond in 1976 to join the Tampa Rowdies of the NASL. Marsh went from player to coach before working in the British media with Sky Sports and talkSPORT. #TeamGrumpy
Tony Meola
US Soccer legend Tony Meola brings his vast experience in the world’s game to Counter Attack. He was the starting goalkeeper for the US National Team in 1990 when they ended a 40-year World Cup drought. He was the starting keeper for the 1994 team, and remained with the National Team through 2006 when he earned his 100th cap. An original player in MLS, Meola started with the NY/NJ MetroStars. He moved to Kansas City and, in 2000, was the MLS MVP, MLS Cup Final MVP, and Goalkeeper of the Year. His 16 shutouts in 2000 still stands as the MLS single-season record. As a broadcaster, Meola was an original host on Counter Attack, as well as an analyst for FOX at the 2018 FIFA World Cup. He is now a member of the Chicago Fire broadcast team.
Janusz Michallik
US at the age of 16, and went on to make 44 appearances for the USMNT from 1991–1994. He also played in MLS for the Columbus Crew and New England Revolution. Since retiring, Michallik has served as a studio analyst and color commentator for ESPN, FOX Sports, and TSN.
Tom Rennie
Rennie brings his quick-witted, irreverent sense of humor to Grumpy Pundits. He is the Executive Editor of talkSPORT’s non-UK content, and lead play-by-play commentator for the Premier League and FA Cup matches broadcast on SiriusXM FC.
Phil Schoen
Phil Schoen is one of the most recognizable voices in televised soccer. He has been a lead announcer for top European leagues such as La Liga, Bundesliga, and Serie A, as well as for international tournaments such as the World Cup and Copa America. Schoen currently resides as the lead soccer announcer for beIN SPORTS, after spending a decade in the same role at GolTV and with ABC/ESPN before that. He is also an avid Arsenal supporter.
Tommy Smyth
The Auld Onion Bag is a member of #TeamGrumpy. A fixture on ESPN International broadcasts for more than 25 years, he was also one of the original TV broadcasters for the NY/NJ MetroStars in MLS. He displays his Irish wit with Rodney Marsh, but makes sure Grumpy Pundits remains a “family show.” He is also one of the TV hosts of the annual New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
Charlie Stillitano
Champagne Charlie spins his mornings on The Football Show and the rest of the day wining and dining with the A-listers of world soccer! A former college player at Princeton, venue director during the 1994 World Cup, and General Manager of the NY/NJ MetroStars, Charlie now promotes international soccer matches around the world.
